Abstract Submission Guideline

  • Authors are required to sign up an account while entering the submission website. Afterwards the authors could login with their accounts to submit or edit abstracts before the deadline.
  • Presentation types:
    (1) Student English Oral Presentation Contest
    (2) Student Poster Presentation Contest
    (3) Oral Presentation
    (4) Poster Presentation
  • Each account is limited to submit ONE abstract only.
  • Based on the protection of intellectual property rights, submitter must be one of the authors of the paper.
  • If the submitted abstract is sponsored by National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) or other sponsors, please make sure to fill in the project number.
  • The abstract should be written based on the template format. The file format should be .doc or .docx. The maximum file size is 4 MB.
  • Before submitting abstract on the system, please double check the all information.
  • Before the deadline for submission, authors can modify the abstract information.
  • Payment must be completed before presentation.
  • Due to a tight schedule, please excuse us if the abstract cannot be presented according to the presentation type indicated by the author.
  • If you completed the abstract submission and have not received any notification on November 1, 2022, please do not hesitate to contact secretariat (2022twiche.tku@gmail.com).

Presentation Contest

There are two kinds of contest in 2022 TwIChE which are “Student English Oral Presentation Contest” and “Student Poster Presentation Contest”, please find the notification below.

Notification
  • Details of the contest will be announced on 2022 TwIChE official webpage after submission deadline.
  • Author needs to submit the abstract on the submission system. For those who intends to participate in Student’s English oral presentation contest, the abstract has to be in English. Regarding poster presentation Contest, the abstract could be prepared in either Chinese or English. The abstract template could be downloaded on the webpage or submission system.
  • The winners shall agree to sign “Power of Attorney for Presentation Materials”, and provide their presentation slides or poster e-files for organizer to record and proceeding preparation.
  • Only student is qualified to attend presentation contest.

Abstract Submission
  • Please check the type of contest when you submit paper on the system.
  • Considering the limited meeting rooms and tight schedule for this event, the reviewers will evaluate submitted abstracts and select contest candidates.
  • Papers not selected in the English oral presentation will be automatically changed to aStudent Poster Presentation Contest.

Rules of the Student English Oral Presentation Contest
  • Only student is qualified to join Student English Oral Presentation Contest, please prepare student ID or another certificate onsite.
  • Participants need to arrive at the meeting room 15 minutes before the session begins. Also, the presentation slides should be uploaded to the computer on the meeting room prior to the session or during the break time. NO personal laptop is allowed to use during presentation.
  • Each presenter has 6 minutes presentation. As a reminder, first bell will be rung after 5 minutes of presenting, second bell will be rung after 7 minutes. Presenter shall stop presenting after second bell immediately.
  • The standard of grading: contents (40%, including innovation, novelty and completeness), structure and organization of presentation (20%), presentation skills (40%, including slides preparation, demeanor, time management, English expression and ability of answering the questions)
  • Award Presentation will be held on closing ceremony.

Rules of the Student Poster Presentation
  • Only student is qualified to join Student Poster Presentation Contest, please prepare student ID or another certificate onsite.
  • The contestant must present in front of the poster for 3 minutes during the designated time slot. The judges will evaluate and select the winners based on the contents of poster and Q&A.
  • The contestant will be disqualified in the following situations:
    • The poster can’t be mounted on the board within 5 minutes after poster presentation contest starts.
    • The contestant is not in front of the poster before judges arrive.
  • The dimensions of the poster board: 200 cm (H)*100 cm (W)
  • The suggested dimensions of the poster: A0 size (119 cm (H)* 84 cm (W))
  • The poster needs to be mounted on and removed from the board at a specified time.
  • Contestants in this competition are grouped according to the topics.
  • Several excellent awards and honorable mentions will be selected according to the number of candidates of each field in proportion.
  • Award certificate will be presented to each winner during closing ceremony.
